Runner Marathon, is a bronze sculpture by French contemporary artist Yann Guillon.
Yann Guillon’s tireless study of the human figure is often reflected in his exploration of specific themes. This is the case with the “runners” series. Yann Guillon uses the bodies of athletes as a pretext to free himself from the reality of proportions and the quest for perfectly defined morphologies. Most of his creations retain a raw aspect, in order not to suppress the spontaneity of the gesture, that gives them life.
Depictions of the human body play a predominant role in Yann Guillon’s work. In these bodies captured in full effort, the artist seeks to emphasize the tension and twisting to invite us to see this energy, through these bronze sculptures, Guillon conveys the mystery and grace. of each human being. His direct carving technique and his forays into abstract sculpture allow him to explore other languages and other registers in sculpture.
