The drawing is rough and rapid, with lively brush strokes the artist captures in an almost impressionist way the fisherman’s movementsand the ripples in the water.
Calo Carratalá is a Spanish contemporary artist, based in Valencia, specializing in landscape painting. The artist is passionate about travel and likes to paint the landscapes he finds on his travels which move him the most. His series of figurative paintings pay homage to the wonderful landscapes of Amazonia, Tanzania and Norway. Without implying it, the artist challenges our relationship with nature, and the ambivalent feelings it can inspire, between fear and fascination. Calo Carratalá’s work has been exhibited in many European galleries and public institutions. He has won several prestigious first prizes since the early 1990s.
