This video is part of Ship Showcase 2.0.

About this ship -

This is an upscaled version of the RX Albatross from R-Type Delta.

Pros
- the Tentacle Force is highly defensive as its arms will expand and contract based on horizontal movement.
- the red beam will fire at a wide radius when opened, allowing you to add up damage quickly.
- the blue beams will latch onto to enemies that they hit and will not let go until they're either destroyed or the enemy moves off screen.
- the yellow beams are short range, but very powerful if contracted and fired into an enemy.
- the Tentacle Force will home in on enemies while detached and firing, making it a great weapon against high health targets.
- the Wave Cannon charges up to three loops and causes multiple smaller explosions around the main blast.

Cons
- the blue beams are rather weak unless you focus both on the enemy, even so they're outshined by the other two weapons.

About this stage -
- Twisted Ecology 2.0 is reached by destroying the red peg on Negus O Shim enough times to dry up the weather. This is a tricky stage with a lot of the spider and bird Bydo piling on bullets and explosives that make more bullets. I had a tough time figuring out what to do to survive against the part where the spiders crawl out of their nests when you fly into the building - but I dreamed (yes, literally) - about putting the Force on the back of the ship and quickly positioning myself into the lower section. It worked.

Negus O Shim stretches its tentacles and fire bullets, but these can be blocked by the Force and the sections that fire at you can be destroyed by your bullets or letting the Force graze them. On R-Typer, the bullets and tentacles come out so fast that I played it super safe and used a ship with an AoE Wave Cannon so that I wouldn't have to detach the Force to the other side of the boss and put me at risk. All that said, the weak point can appear on either side of the boss, making it tough to hit sometimes. I'm pretty sure I timed out the boss here, but oh well. Done is done.

The desert version and ice versions of this stage are my least favorites. The desert slightly edges out the ice version because it's just harder in general.

Ordinarily I bring the Strike Bomber into variations of this stage and pierce through Negus O Shim to hit its weak point so I can speed things up.

Worth noting - I didn't use the red weapon in this stage, but unlike R-Type Delta, the red beam is more powerful when expanded rather than contracted, so I always try to use the red weapon while the Tentacle Force is opened up in R-Type Final.
