In the previous video we developed protocol, hardware and software for two Arduinos, a master and a slave, to communicate via RS-485 (link below). Now it’s time to handle unresponsive slaves and more than one slave.
First we talk about the necessity of timeouts to protect our master from unresponsive slaves and extend our master’s code accordingly. Then we add addressing to the whole scheme, which allows us to have multiple slaves on the bus.
