Rooke Elderly Care Home to be bought and run by GHA with residents to move in before year end @GBCNewsroom

The Rooke Elderly Care home will be bought by the Gibraltar Health Authority at a cost of over £38 million and will be operated by GHA staff.

The building is now complete with residents expected to move in before the end of the year.

There are 170 en-suite rooms with a capacity for 218 residents.

Everyone at Mount Alvernia will be offered a place, as will long stay patients at St Bernard's Hospital.

The home will be opened to the public in the coming week.
