Roni – one time member of King Creole & The Coconuts – revived the #39 1964 US hit for the Ronettes. Roni Griffith’s version appeared on her 1982 album, “Roni Griffith” and reached #2 on the US Dance chart. The disc also made it to # 63 in the UK.
Roni moved to the Christian contemporary field of the music business in 1983 and today pursues a career as a photographer in her home state of Indiana.
Bobby Orlando was one of the best known American producers in the Hi-NRG field, producing hits for himself, the Flirts and Divine. He also produced the initial version of the Pet Shop Boys’ “West End Girls”. Engineer Mark Berry later produced albums in Australia for Pseudo Echo (“Love An Adventure, 1986) and Kids In The Kitchen (“Shine”, 1985), as well as the hit, “Baby Talk” for Alisha in 1985.
