Hormones are often seen as only relevant to reproduction, but they play many important roles throughout the body, including the brain, affecting memory, mood and cognitive health. As psychiatrist Dr Sue Varma and I discuss on this week's podcast, most doctors receive very little training on this during medical school, which means it's often overlooked in patient care.

This is exactly why I set up @newson_education, to give healthcare professionals accessible training on the roles of hormones so more patients get the care they need.
