The classic SD40-2 is alive and well in the form of Union Pacific's SD40N, and can be found hard at work in the Twin Cities! We'll see these classics roaring by in run 8, as they pull trains around the area.
We'll chase, and follow Union Pacifics Y-SPMP Transfer as it works its way from South Saint Paul/Belt Yard towards East Mpls Yard, and eventually, BNSF's Northtown Yard. Along the way, we'll see it tackling the stiff grades of both Midway, and Saint Paul Subs. In one case, we'll even see a rare CF7 being brought over to Northtown Yard. Locations along the line include Soo Line Jct, Maryland Ave, BN University, and many more. Its great to see these classic locomotives still hard at work!
