Ever since the Canadian Pacific and KCS merged back in 2023, more KCS power has slowly been making its way up towards the Twin Cities. One of the more interesting, and rare units have been the 'Gray Ghosts'. Only a handful of these are left, and seeing the lead is a RARE treat.
Usually bound to locals, and way freights, something completely out of the blue happened. KCS 2016, a GP38-2 'Gray Ghost' lead a mainline freight in the form of CP 248 in a VERY RARE move. Due to the KCS SD70MAC having issues, the old school geep was put in the lead! This might be the last time this ever happens though... The 'Bensenville Allstars' had ANOTHER accident, and severely damaged the 2016...possibly so bad its off to scrap.
We'll also see some other KCS power in the Twin Cities as an added bonus after the chase. Some days the former Canadian Pacific feels more like its KCS with all of the solid KCS power running around!
