Railroad ties, while they are tough, they only so long before they have to get replaced. Watching the unloading process of new ties is pretty cool, and something not often seen along the railroad tracks! We'll get a neat, and up close view of it in this video!
Railroad ties can last up to 30 or so years in mainline service. They might wear out sooner then that, depending on the area, climate, and how much tonnage a route sees. Watching new ties get replaced is a neat process. With the use of some neat, heavy equipment, they make it look easy, as they place new railroad ties along the tracks!
