We rehearse for almost everything that matters, but making high-stakes decisions under pressure with incomplete information usually goes unpracticed. Riskgaming is a set of strategic simulations from Lux Capital that helps practice it: each person takes on a character and a private objective, then competes through a crisis drawn from the frontier of tech, business, and geopolitics. These scenarios have run with U.S. senators, four-star generals, foreign ministers, biotech executives, and undergraduates alike. This talk introduces Riskgaming's design philosophy and makes the case for experiential simulation as a core way to learn how to govern technology.

Speaker:
Laurence Pevsner, Partner, Research, Lux Capital

Recorded at the 2026 Games for Change Festival, "Reimagining Play," July 21
to 22 at The Glasshouse in New York City.
