A little info on Rise of the Ronin:
Rise of the Ronin is an open-world action RPG developed by Team Ninja and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment, originally released on March 22, 2024 for PlayStation 5 (and later PC in March 2025). Set during the turbulent Bakumatsu period of mid-19th century Japan—the final years of the Tokugawa Shogunate—the plot follows a custom-created, nameless masterless samurai searching for their lost twin amidst a nation torn apart by foreign influence, disease, and political conflict. Players navigate crucial historical events and form bonds or rivalries with real figures like Sakamoto Ryoma, making narrative choices that alter the fate of key factions and shape the story's outcome.
Combining Team Ninja's signature high-speed combat with open-world exploration, the gameplay features intense melee encounters alongside ranged tools, leveraging weapons like katanas, spears, revolvers, and rifles. Movement across expansive recreations of Edo, Kyoto, and Yokohama is made dynamic through the use of a grappling hook, horses, and a glider, alongside options for full online co-op.
