I have a cordless Ridgid Drill Driver/Impact Driver combo kit and I really think it's a great tool BUT!!

Isn't that what happens with a lot of things, it's pretty good, BUT!! Well the 'But' in this case has nothing to do with the capability of the tool or the batteries. Let me explain.

This kit is 18 volt and came with 2 2 aHr batteries. The main reason I bought this set was because the batteries were guaranteed for life!! That's right 'life'. Hard to believe eh. Well I didn't believe it either but I thought I'd try.

It turns out theyare guaranteed for life!! Go figure. But to me that makes buying Ridgid battery powered tools worth the expense.

But now about the 'but'. The only way to use the guarantee is to take the batteries back to an authorized Ridgid Tool Repair depot. For me that involves going to the city. I don't like to go there and so I tried this option.
