I store my Massey Ferguson GC2300 Awesome Tractor attachments in a temporary shelter behind the shop. But we had a wind storm the other night and now I can't!!!
The shelter I store the attachments in is about 10 years old. It has very solid bones and by that I mean the pipe framework is still in very good condition. The shelter is 10 feet by 20 feet and it was open on one of the long sides so accessing what was in the shelter was pretty easy.
The shelter was only meant for summer use and so the roof soon developed some leaks and signs of wear and tear. So I bought a large heavy duty tarp about 4 years ago and put it on the roof. It has been holding up pretty good till the other night.
We had a wind 'event' the other night and the tarp on the roof broke free of it's bindings and kind of blew off. Then the original roof didn't stand much of a chance of survival and it soon followed.
What I am left with is a severally damaged temporary shelter. The frame is still good and I thought maybe I would just take the old roof off and put the tarp over it and go from there. But when I took the tarp off and the old sides of the shelter I found out that plan might be good for only another year, if that.
So now I'm faced with the dilemma. Do I just get another temporary shelter and try that again, or do I build a decent structure to store the attachments in. I'm not sure what to do, so I paused this project till I can determine a good road to go down!!
Let me know what you think, should I just go with another temporary shelter or build a proper wood frame shelter?
