I've always been curious about the seam on all of my T-Shirts that runs from one sleeve across the neckline and back to the other sleeve seam. I know it is for stability. Therefore, I decided to take apart a very old yard work T-Shirt I had to see exactly what make up this seam.

It appears that Retail Manufacturers use this to stabilize the back neck and shoulder seams instead of using the stabilizers home sewers use.
