In Chapter 6, We Cover: God's Care and Protection of Wives (and Husbands)
In this chapter, we ask ourselves "Who is God?" Is God the protector of the innocent, or is God the protector of your marital status. I believe that the Bible shows -- from the earliest law of Moses to the New Testament -- God's care for the innocent spouse and his fury at the abusive, neglectful, or sexually unfaithful spouse.
Starting in the first 5 books of the Bible. God didn't allow slave wives to be treated badly. He didn't allow POW wives to be treated badly. Those husbands had to let them go. Treating them like slaves wasn't an option.
8 Biblical Reasons to Get Away From and Divorce Abusers
Exodus 21: 10-11 - The cornerstone of Jewish marriage and divorce. Specifically: The minimum level treatment of slave wives.
Deuteronomy 21 - The treatment of POW wives.
