One of my co-workers has entrusted me with their first computer: an IBM Portable Personal Computer 5155. I don't get to keep it, but I do get to repair it.
In Part 2 of this livestream series, I will once again be disassembling and inspecting this computer now that I have the correct bit to open the power supply, so I can give them a ballpark repair estimate. Please don't get mad if I don't do something with this computer, it isn't mine so I'm going to be a bit more careful with it... that also means I'm going to re-assemble it at the end of the stream so that I don't risk losing parts.
What additional troubles will lurk inside? Will this bring back good memories? Will I find a show-stopper of an issue? You'll have to watch to find out!
