My earliest memories of the SE/30 are of one of my middle school friends talking about the family's SE/30, and how it was better than the school's Macintosh LCs. I think he even brought it into school one day, and yes it was fast with its 68030 processor on a full 32-bit bus.
I don't remember if I actually used that SE/30 or only watched others do so, but that is the only SE/30 I had seen in person until the 2020's.
Fast forward to the mid-2020's (yes, 2025) - I found an SE/30 on eBay (the place where I buy the things I later regret™) that looked like a good candidate: it was auction format, the auction end time was during the day, and most importantly, there was no rust visible on the I/O ports.
$208 total later (gotta pay shipping and tax), and this SE/30 has landed in the basement. I've already removed the battery and capacitors, and ultrasonically cleaned the board to hopefully stop any further damage from leaking capacitors, and it's time to inspect, repair, and recap the logic board.
Will we find any trace damage? Will I burn any plastic? Will it chime after the recap? You'll have to watch to find out!

![The Flex 64K: I Should Have Kept My Mouth Shut During Wheel of Regrets™ (Computerized Start™ Live)
I meant to look at my Macintosh IIsi tonight, but Wheel of Regrets™ took over the stream...
Everything was going smoothly until someone made the comment about a clone computer that I had. And me, perplexed how they knew that I had bought another Apple ][ clone, didnt keep my mouth shut. Thats how the OS-21, a.k.a. the Flex 64K, took over the second half of the stream.
Did I get any Trident cards? What is the Flex 64K? And does it work? Youll have to watch to find out!
