Here's a short video on how I've been repairing early Optimus Nova burners over the last seven years. These early models often have the burner mounting stud shear off over time and through constant retightening. Installing a stainless steel stud with high strength silver brazing (stronger than the base metal) solves the problem.
I've repaired a couple of dozen (or more!) of these older Nova burners using this method. All the repaired stoves I've done continue to work just fine. My technique is a great method to do this - do not use "TiG welding", "JB Weld", or some other such made-up nonsense. Repairing them this way *does not* affect the ability of the magnetic cleaning tool to actuate the cleaning needle - that works just fine, too.
Please judge my work and my abilities in this and other videos I've posted.
Sorry to say I'm not repairing these much anymore. The old Novas like this have gone beyond their useful life and likely should be retired and replaced with new stoves.
But, feel free to use my techniques to DIY or hire a machinist and have him/her take a look at the video.
