Welcome to Pilates at Cornerstone Physiotherapy.
Research shows that one of the best ways to recover from an injury is to keep moving and stay active. However, most people aren’t sure how to stay active safely.
We can help!
As therapeutic Pilates instructors, we specialize in working with injured bodies, helping our clients get stronger and move without pain. We collaborate with the physiotherapists at Cornerstone, ensuring that your program is specific to your needs.
What is Pilates?
Pilates helps to develop efficient movement. We do this by strengthening the deep postural muscles of the body and looking at movement patterns. Poor movement and support can be contributing factors to how and why an injury occurs.
In Pilates, we use equipment, like the reformer, the mat and small equipment like weights and stability balls, to strengthen and challenge your body as you get stronger and move past your injury. Using this equipment, we can safely take you through proper movement patterns and muscle engagement, teaching your body new habits and making your day to day movements stronger.
Attending a Pilates sessions at Cornerstone Physiotherapy gives you a tremendous advantage toward your recovery. Working closely with the physiotherapists, we create a comprehensive treatment plan we feel provides you with the best approach to rehabilitation.
