There's no escaping it. We are in the height of summer and it is HOT out right now. The best way to cool off is with a delicious cocktail AKA liquid air conditioning.

Today's drink was created by Ivy Mix and Leanne Favre from the Brooklyn bar Leyenda. It's a refreshing mule riff that uses rum as the base spirit. And, most importantly, it's delicious!

BROOKLYN BURRO
- 2 oz white rum
- 1/2 oz ginger syrup
- 1/2 oz lime juice
- 1/2 oz pineapple juice
- 2 dashes Angostura bitters
- Top with sparkling water

Add all ingredients except sparkling water to shaker and shake with ice. Strain into glass with fresh ice. Top with soda water. Garnish with lime wheel and candied ginger.
