Wind channel like simulation on the Command Module "Columbia" from the Apollo 11 spacecraft done with Blender's Smoke Simulator. Currently it's really cumbersome to work out something like this in Blender but I think I have accomplished a good looking result.
Some Blender limitations I had to deal with:
(Dear Blender devs, consider these being feature requests ;))
- Smokesim could use better collision detection for obstacles in motion (currently it's not preserving volume and absorbs smoke)
- Smokesim should have a global air flow setting
- Smokesim could improve on using real world attributes instead of magic numbers without units
- Smokesim could use an accessible pressure attribute for shader nodes
- Particle colliders could use a chaos parameter for variation from the perfect angle of reflection (see 3DS)
