The Redback Infantry Fighting Vehicle (IFV), a next-generation armored combat vehicle built by Hanwha Defense, successfully went through a variety of tests and evaluations last year for the Australian Army’s LAND 400 Phase 3 program aimed at acquiring some 450 state-of-the-art IFVs.
The outstanding performance of its mobility, protection, and lethality stems from the proven reliability of its components for the last decades.
Although the Redback was specifically designed and developed to meet the Australian Defence Forces' requirements, its capacity to adopt futuristic capabilities throughout its lifespan draw attention from across the world.
The successful collaboration with the Oshkosh Defense Consortium for the US Army's Optionally Manned Fighting Vehicle (OMFV) program is an example of the Redback IFV going 'Beyond Australia', as the vehicle is a departure point of the Oshkosh Defense consortium's OMFV design. Currently, the Redback IFV is also receiving lots of interest from potential European partners for the IFV programs in Europe.
