During DSEI 2021, Hanwha Defense formed the “Team Thunder” partnering with UK defense companies to bid for the UK Mobile Fires Platform (MFP) programme. Under the Team Thunder, Hanwha Defense will work together with Pearson Engineering, Horstman Defence Systems, Leonardo UK, and Canada’s Soucy Defense to build a ‘Made-in-UK K9’ Self-Propelled Howitzer to be equipped with a fully automatic turret, enabling the users to fire nine rounds per minute, and the composite rubber track to improve mobility.
