GuiltyFeat | Reading an Author by Accident? - Discussion @GuiltyFeat | Uploaded April 2023 | Updated October 2024, 9 hours ago.
Somehow without necessarily meaning to, I have read 8 novels by Kate Atkinson over the past 25 years. And I know I'm going to read two more, at least. She's not the most read author in my library, but that still seems like a lot for a literary writer who I wouldn't necessarily name in my top 20.
Has this ever happened to you?
To be clear this is not meant to be disparaging in any way to Atkinson. She is a successful, prize-winning author. I have enjoyed reading each of her books... and yet I have the sense that I've read more of her than I needed to... whatever that means.
How do you balance the will to enjoy your reading and revisit authors and genres that won't let you down versus expanding your boundaries and trying authors you've never read?
