GuiltyFeat | Recent Reads January, 2023: George Saunders, Gabrielle Zevin, Sheena Patel & Francoise Sagan @GuiltyFeat | Uploaded January 2023 | Updated October 2024, 10 hours ago.
Lots of reading accomplished already at the start of the year and I'm feeling good about the books I have lined up.
"Leonard and Hungry Paul" by Ronan Hession was an absolute delight and I urge everyone to seek out reviews by Brian @BookishTexan and @shawnbreathesbooks for confirmation.
Couple of disappointing contemporary novels this time around, one more irritating than the other. Not sure why I continue to punish myself this way. I might have predicted my response to "Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow," but then I started really enjoying it right up until I didn't.
"I'm a Fan" by Sheena Patel was more problematic because I think it entirely failed to shock or generate empathy. Shame.
There were some other books as well.
