S-FOTA is an inexpensive plug-in firmware designed to provide cyber security services needed to protect the firmware update process. S-FOTA provides data integrity and authenticity using a single cryptographic cache in its signature. The signature is generated the same way in the factory as well as on the field of devices which allows confirmation that the data has not been manipulated. The security solutions that were originally designed for the automotive industry can be easily applied to everyday uses, such as user passwords.
