Sandia contributes to the science of advanced hydrogen and fuel cell technologies by providing a deep, quantitative understanding and scientific basis for materials interaction with hydrogen and safety. A series of successful tests at Sandia National Laboratories collected data to validate models used for safety codes and standards, supporting efforts to assess the safety of hydrogen infrastructure. The work was supported by the US DOE Office of Energy Efficiency & Renewable Energy (EERE) Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technologies Office (HFTO).
