On Monday, a United Airlines 777 diverted to Calgary while flying from London to San Francisco, due to a mechanical issue.
Whatever that issue was, it was enough for United to cancel the flight after landing in Calgary and fly another 777 here the next day to bring the original flight's passengers the rest of the way.
I filmed that rescue flight arriving and departing, and the diverted plane is still on the ground here as of uploading this.
Seeing a heavy from an American airline here, let alone two of them, was quite the rare sight, so I hope you enjoy the video!

Yesterday, this Gulfstream G700 flight test aircraft from Gulfstream Aerospace flew into Calgary.
The G700 is Gulfstreams largest private jet to date, and is a stretched version of the successful G650. The G700 is still awaiting certification, and this particular one was in Iqaluit for some cold weather testing.
Strangely, it left Iqaluit and flew over to Fairbanks, but didnt actually descend, and diverted to Calgary instead.
It ended up staying the night here and then left just before sunrise. No idea why it came to Calgary of all places, but Im very glad to have seen this fantastic looking jet! Enjoy the video!

Back in April, @MarkBrandonAviation and I spent a couple nights in Kuujjuaq - the largest town in Quebecs north, a region called Nunavik. This region above the 55th parallel is predominantly Inuit, and is home to 14 communities with no road connections.
Of those towns, Kuujjuaq Airport is the only one with a paved runway, and so its the busiest one in the region by far. Air Inuit serves the local communities with some links to Quebec City and Montreal, and Canadian North also provides direct links to Iqaluit and Montreal.
Theres no shortage of interesting traffic for any aviation enthusiast, so if youd like to see some plane spotting thats off the beaten path a bit, look no further than here!
