One of the most unusual reel tapes issued by Omega, or any label of the 50s, 'In a Monastery' was recorded inside California's Ramakrishna Monastery at the request of Alexander Poniatoff, President of Ampex (known for producing audio/video recorders and tape). The story goes that he was so impressed with the acoustics that he requested a recording be made there as an 'acoustical experiment'. Somehow it ended up on Dave Hubert's Omegatape label and here it is, nearly 70 years later, in full stereo. Notes and selection titles will appear on screen.
