My entry for DannyPhantomSG1's non/Disney favourite character contest using Rapunzel from Tangled to 'Looking Up' by SafetySuit. I originally showed up to see if I could edit my boy Miles because I've seen him in non/disney edits, and I feel comfortable with the idea of editing Marvel, but he was already taken, and I thought it'd be fun to enter, so I decided to edit my favourite Disney princess instead. I felt a bit nervous editing Disney given I don't normally do that, and the non/disney community is so talented it's kind of intimidating, but I'm super happy with how this turned out. I also managed to finish this and achieve my one goal: having fun and not getting stressed!
Me being me, I am amazed that I finished this with five days to spare before the deadline, and I switched songs multiple times and didn't start really editing about two weeks ago even though I've had, like, two months. I only made a major breakthrough on Tuesday, and I was feeling very proud of being productive until I found an email in my spam on Wednesday that told me I should have been at a webinar about the grad scheme I just got on so... thankfully it wasn't compulsory, and they emailed round a recording.
Anyway, Tangled is one of my favourite Disney movies, and Rapunzel is my favourite Disney princess, although I think it was the animated series that pushed her above Belle. I'm not really good at character studies or anything like that, so I ended up just picking a song that I thought fit her personality and what I like about her. I have types of favourite characters: angsty people that need redemption arcs, people with anxiety/mental health problems and balls of sunshine who are positive forces of good in the world. Rapunzel is the latter, and I just admire her optimism, her unwavering drive and how she brings out the best in others. I don't think the edit really showcases this, but I just thought the song embodied her overall spirit.

I originally didnt think I could take part in this MEP because Im very aroace, and Ive never had crushes on people, but then I asked Sol if I could use the character my friend had a crush on because my friends crush on this character sparked an internal anxious meltdown at the fact that I didnt crush on people that led to me figuring out I was ace. Also, I havent seen this show in years so I just downloaded random episodes and hoped for the best.

Happy Halloween! I dont know if this is a trick or a treat as its super long. Octobers been a month, new laptop, new job, and were going back into lockdown... Anyway, this collection is basically split between parts I made in a blitz at the end of October when I got a new laptop and old ones from August. Im really happy with how this part turned out. This is my first part with Carnival of Rust Studios where we edit the emo music of my teenage years. I had some troubles getting the neon & paint aesthetic down, but I felt like it really pushed me editing-wise, and thats what I really want.

I normally edit Roshanna for these MEPs because actual, canon asexual character, buuuut cosmic soul did an ace/aro edit for Pride, I believe, and they included Misumi, and I just 100% accept that headcanon. It totally fits with his personality, and his interest in the director is the lowest, and he mostly just seems happy to have friends. Also, hell yeah to an annual aspec awareness MEP.

This is the start of the old parts. This one was for our surprise birthday MEP for Sol (Sykesus), who really loves Todobaku. I remember this being a lot of fun to edit, I still really enjoy this song.

Happy New Year! Look at me, uploading in January of the new year, definitely dont get used to this. This is my part for @RetrotikaYT WORM. The theme was artists youve found through editing. There are honestly so many artists I could have picked for this theme, but I decided to go for All Time Low as theyve become one of my favourite bands over the past few years, being my no. 1 most listened to artist in both 2022 and 2023.
The first edit I can remember coming across with All Time Low is this banger of an MEP by @YoungEmpiresStudios in probably around 2015-2016 ish when I first came across YES.

I really fell in love with them when I joined @PokeLSoumas birthday MEPs a couple years ago, and I have only fallen further down the rabbit hole of loving this band since. This is one of my absolute favourite songs of theirs, its just so much fun. The ship selection was insanely random. I just wanted to edit Miles/Gwen and Satosugu, and then I was going to use the verse to edit Alex/Henry and Aziraphel/Crowley, but I took a break working on this to make progress on Secret Santa edits, and I just... forgot my plans when I went back to it until after Id laid the Tangled clips. I couldnt figure out who to put in the other part of the verse until it was the deadline, and I had to do something so Sokka/Suki.

This is my part for @futureheartsstudios WORM, which Im uploading on its own because it might only be 30 seconds long, but I spent five months working on this, and Im genuinely super proud of how it turned out. Lena invited me to join this project to celebrate All Time Lows 20th anniversary where we created a worm covering their whole discography. I got this idea to edit Jinx/Ekko to Time Bomb when working on Chars secret Santa gift because thats when I learnt their ship name and thought it would just be funny (also the song really fits them), so I was super excited to get a chance to make it reality even though casino style nearly finished me.

Hehehe, Ive been looking forward to that title! XD This is my round up of my parts for meps that have come out in January/should be coming out, I think. This is probably going to be what I do with most mep parts for now cause being in 3 active studios means Im making a lot, but ones I really like/are for special meps or whatever may go up separately.

I had SO much fun making these! Like this song is so ridiculous... But at the same time, I ended putting a lot of effort in, like I actually used 3d for more than just spinning stuff around! Also first time editing in a different language. Even if it was just a tiny bit, it was confusing as fuck!

The colour scheme of greyscale plus one character associated colour drove me nuts at first, but then I figured out this yellow-purple colour swap, and now I really like it!

Im still emotionally recovering from this episode. I got spoiled for what was going to happen a few weeks in advance (largely because I was making this video, and I was Googling for Sasha scenes), and I spent them trying to convince myself that it wasnt true because I love Sasha so much. I didnt even know I was super attached to her and this trio in general until season 3 came out, and I suddenly realised that there were no dispensable characters anymore. I had a horrible feeling that something might happen to her or Connie (please no manga spoilers!) because they seemed like the least plot relevant characters left, but still, I was not ready for this. In a way, Im kind of glad for the spoiler so it didnt hit me out of nowhere. Im glad I started this video before the fourth season aired, and I started re-watching the series and loved every second of these three.
Anyway, I have absolutely loved this season so much! Its been amazing, and I love that they put me in a situation where one of my favourite characters is killed, but I cant even be mad at the person that killed her because Gabi is just Eren from season 1. You know exactly where shes coming from, and I love that the narrative puts you in this bind. Im so excited for where this is going. Both the season 4 things that got spoiled for me so far (Sasha and Zeke) happened in episode 8, so Im going in for the rest of this blind, and Im so excited!
Also, apologise for the audio editing. I did it myself, and it comes out slightly different when I play it on a media player in my laptop to when I upload it to Youtube, so this is actually the third or so version Ive uploaded, and Ive decided to settle for this quality. I really want to make another Sasha edit, but Ive got a Red Crackle edit thats almost done that I put aside to finish this, so I wanna get that done first, but then maybe more Sasha provided season 4 doesnt throw something new at me to distract my attention.
