At last! Our growing collections of gorgeous Pre Grouping Locomotives now have a broad and diverse range of non corridor coaches to haul around our layouts. This is thanks to 'Evolution' - the brainchild of Rapido Trains UK and is a selection of generic 48ft bogie coaches covering multiple pre-grouping coach styles and liveries.
Each are gloriously detailed inside and out with an array of key features appropriate to the railway company. These details are modular so clerestory roof's for example, can be swapped out for flat or oval profiles as part of the tooling suite to give a good, if not fully accurate, representation of the real coaches.
The potential for this range is enormous, as thousands of pre grouping coaches lasted throughout the 'Big Four' and into the BR era. That's dozens of liveries that will no doubt come our way.
The first to land are the SECR Red versions, and this is big news for the Neville Grove fleet as the D Class has been all dressed up with nowhere to go for several years now. A perfect compliment to go with the Rapido Wagons and SECR wagons also featured in the video.
