An icon of British steam locomotive engineering, this OO gauge Gresley Pacific is seen being put through its paces on the Neville Grove model railway.
"Great Northern" has had custom weathering applied to its stunning 1920’s Doncaster Green livery to give an in service, but well looked after appearance, so typical of the period when railways in the UK were arguably in their heyday.
As well as a good looker, this @officialhornby model is an excellent runner - just like the actual Gresley Pacifics. The real locomotives were regarded as real thoroughbreds by footplate crews throughout their operational lifetime.
With a bit of licence, archive sound recordings of an A3 and a V2 fitted the bill nicely for these videos. They were recorded by Peter Handford in the late 1950's and are available now from Old Thundridge Records.
