During the summer season when Monarchs are active and laying eggs, "doomed milkweed" might be worth an examination. "Doomed milkweed" would be milkweed growing in a location where it is very likely to be treated as a weed and removed. In cases such as this, milkweed leaves can be sourced for food for home reared caterpillars, and any eggs or caterpillars found along the way can be saved from...well...certain doom!
