Ladies and Gentlemen, the eastern migratory Monarch Butterfly population is up! Territory occupied in the overwintering sites in Mexico went from 2.48 hectares last year to a very encouraging 6.05 hectares! So encouraging, I say the word "encouraging" almost a discouraging number of times in this video! I can't help it. I'm excited! Furthermore, this video was shot on May 25th, 2019, and just after seeing a Monarch Butterfly in my yard and collecting the season's first eggs. This is to date, the earliest I've personally seen a Monarch in Michigan since I started doing this. So exciting! But, there's still work to be done!
