For part 2 of my trip to Cajon Pass, we pick up at the Mormon Rocks where I was greeted by a UP intermodal heading down the hill. Next up was a BNSF manifest train that had a GP60M-3, BNSF 145, trailing. That was a cool surprise to see. I then was climbing around on the rocks and was experimenting with different shots. It couldn't have been more perfect timing with two trains meeting on track 1 and track 3. Track 3 isn't used that often due to an almost 3% grade so the train has to be pretty light to be able to travel on that track, or if there's a lot of train traffic in the area. Following that meet, I stook around Mormon Rocks for a bit longer and I saw the warbonnet/NS duo again. It kind of caught me off guard as I waiting for a UP train but the shot did not fail me! After the UP train passed, I relocated to CP Cajon where I caught an intermodal blasting off headed towards Los Angeles. I then made my way to Summit and making a pit stop at Swarthout Canyon to see another UP manifest. The UP ZSCLB came along with a freshly rebuild AC44 that was originally built as a dash 9. I would conclude the day by seeing Amtrak 4 headed to Chicago. It was an awesome trip and I can't wait to return! Enjoy!
