The Northwestern Pacific Railroad, NWP, is a shortline freight railroad that runs primarily between Petaluma and Schelville, CA. The NWP is now operated by SMART, though. Their prime source of power is their EMD MP15DC locomotive 1501. NWP 1501 sports a lovely sounding P3 whistle. Also on this night, they were using their genset 2611 sporting a magnificent RS5T whistle. That was all worth the trip right there! There was plenty of horn action so it definitely did not disappoint. It was a usual night on the rails for them: out to Petaluma to work at Hunt & Behrens, then do a runaround to head back to Schelville. If you like a lot of horn action, head to 14:30, 16:05, and 18:10 for some awesome RS5T! I hope you enjoy an evening on the NWP!
