We spent our 2017 Christmas exploring the small village of Nan'ao on the east coast of Taiwan.

This beautiful region of the country is characterised by is towering mountain backdrop, rushing rivers, waterfalls and coastal views.
It's a great place for outdoor enthusiasts who want to feel like they are far away from the bigger cities like Ilan and Hualien.

We took the train from Hualien and explored Nan'ao by bicycle and by foot. It was one of the best day's out we've had so far!

Beautiful scenery, quiet surroundings and the chance to encounter a unique natural setting turned out to be the perfect recipe for adventure.
