When done, it is a good idea to loosen the belts and move the gantry in XY to see how smoothly it moves. Can even remove the belts. It is possible some binding can occur if there is some other anomaly.
You can also home machine, move to center, then disable 1 motor at a time and listen for a "thump" noise, or worse yet, see the axis move when stepper disable. The motors should almost be silent when disabled. This noise can be binding from the motor pulling the cross as it may be pulling against the motor.
