Hey everyone, today I’m going to show you how to hardwire a radar detector on a Honda S2000.
Difficulty: Easy
Estimated time: 30 minutes
Tools necessary:
- Radar Detector Hardwire Kit
- 10mm socket and ratchet
- T-25 Torx drive
Steps
1. The first thing you want to do is remove the driver’s side sun visor by flipping it open and loosening the screw holding it in place using a T-25 torx driver.
2. Next, remove the A pillar trim by prying the upper part off and then carefully lifting it out of place.
3. Get underneath the dash and thread the radar detector connector upwards towards the A pillar. Once the wire is running along the A pillar you can lightly pull the upper window frame and tuck the wire cleanly behind it.
4. You can now replace the interior trim we removed. Re install the A pillar trim by sliding the trim downwards and then snapping the upper part in place. Re install the sun visor by sliding it into place and tightening the screw that holds it in place using a T-25 torx driver.
5. Now we have to wire the ground and power cable. Remove the grounding bolt located above the hood release with a 10mm socket. 6. Place grounding bolt through the radar detector’s ground and reinstall the grounding bolt.
Insert the female power socket into the accessory tap on the fusebox. It will be third box down that has a male pin to the left of the fuse box. This should give your radar detector power when your ignition is in the accessory position.
7. Use a zip tie to secure and clean up any excess wires.
8. Finally, plug in your radar detector and avoid speeding tickets.
