Quorum Twain 56" ceiling fan in brushed brass. This fan was featured in my most recent Product Spotlight, so check out that video if you haven't already for the full rundown. As mentioned in that video, this model is generally very basic and there's not a lot to cover technically, but the styling derived from belt-driven systems is really the talking point. Quorum always dabbles in vintage inspiration, and they're one of the few who have a bit of selection in that realm left in their lineup still today, but this was a welcome addition that also has a modern touch. Most vintage/antique derivative designs have been cut and eliminated from many product lines over the past 10-15 years, and even though we've seen a few cycles of such intros arrive in that same time, most of those have been very short-lived. Twain arrived at a GREAT time just as Fanimation cut their last remaining bits of belt-drive offerings, really just leaving Woolen Mill Fan Company as the only source for building that kind of custom system from scratch, unfortunately at pretty substantial cost that simply is not accessible to everyone. This fan can bring in the suggestion of that look and style at an everyday price point, and for that I like it. There's a few execution things here mostly related to the new downrod coupler that weren't my favorite experience with Quorum, but I'm willing to offer grace in the transition and will give it some time before complaining too much about that aspect. I love the new brushed brass finish, and these simulated blades move in as some of the best I've seen. They look so good, and the suede-like matte finish super elevates the look and makes them feel so much less plastic-y. Now I'm just waiting for someone to install a row of these in an upscale restaurant or hospitality application on nice long downrods; I think that's where this design would truly shine.
