Y’all, this Southern Classic Pea Salad is one of those timeless old-fashioned recipes that always disappears first at the table 💚✨
Creamy mayonnaise, crispy bacon, sweet green peas, sharp cheddar cheese, and just the right bite of onion come together in this easy Southern side dish that tastes like church potlucks, summer cookouts, family reunions, and Sunday dinners at Grandma’s house.

This recipe is incredibly simple—just mix everything together, chill, and serve! It’s the perfect make-ahead side dish for BBQs, Easter dinner, summer picnics, holiday meals, or anytime you want a little taste of comforting Southern tradition.

The salty bacon paired with the sweet peas and creamy dressing gives this dish that irresistible sweet-savory homestyle flavor everyone loves. Best of all, it only takes minutes to make.

If you love retro Southern recipes, old-fashioned comfort food, and easy homestead kitchen favorites, this one is for you ❤️

✨ Ingredients:
🥓 6–8 strips bacon, cooked and crumbled
🫛 4 cups frozen peas
🥄 1 1/3 cup mayonnaise
✨ 2 teaspoons sugar
🧂 1/2 teaspoon salt
🌶️ 1/2 teaspoon pepper
🧀 1–1 1/2 cups grated cheddar cheese
🧅 1 small onion, finely diced

👉 Simply mix all ingredients in a large bowl, refrigerate 1–2 hours, and serve cold.
❄️ If serving outdoors, keep on ice because of the mayo.

🙏 Thanks for spending time in Greg’s Cumberlachia Kitchen, where old-fashioned Southern comfort food and homestead cooking traditions are always on the menu.
