The Pykes were from the rocky world Oba Diah, located near the Akkades Maelstrom that contained the planet Kessel. Thanks to their proximity to the mining world and the spice it produced, many Pykes joined the Pyke Syndicate, a criminal group that was heavily involved in the illegal spice trade. They also had representatives on Kessel itself to oversee the mines and the slaves they forced into servitude. They could appear to be very close to human proportions, but some had more exaggerated features, being much taller and thinner than most humanoids. The latter Pykes were more often seen in leadership positions on Oba Diah, so perhaps Pykes that spent more time offworld on worlds like Tatooine, Kessel, or Toshara developed more human-like features. #starwars
