As soon as @VRonMediaMusic landed on hometowns as the theme for this album, I knew instantly that I wanted to take on the theme of Arlia Village (Rena's Hometown) from Star Ocean 2. The game had just recently come out with an amazing remake which, as someone who played the original SO2 a perfectly normal amount of times in high school, I absolutely adored. I could go on and on as to what this game means to me (you think I'm kidding come try me 🤣) and so glad I got an opportunity to cover this track.
This cover is pretty close to the original PSX version (the remake isn't too different) with some flourishes to make it my own. I had a great bunch of collaborators along the way as I had never utilized these instruments in an arrangement/mix of my own before, and helping bring this piece to life! I'm so happy with how this came out, and I hope you all enjoy this sweet and cozy little tune 🥰
