Wild Arms 2 OP1
Composed by Michiko Naruke
Arranged for 2 clarinets & guitar
✨FEATURING SPECIAL GUEST @acmenesmusic on guitar!✨
Back again with more Wild Arms music - this time a tune from the 2nd one!
Gosh talk about a game that sorely needs a remaster/remake if only so we get a chance of a better translation in English.
I really liked how my arrangement of the WA3 opening from last year came out so I wanted to do a similar style for this game's opening. Whistle/recorder didn't really seem to mesh as well, but clarinet timbre worked really well for the vocal line - we'll ignore how often I was playing in the throat tones - and the range allowed for both harmony and descant lines to fit nicely on the instrument (let's call it a nod to Ashley and Knight Blazer)
I asked my friend AC to yeehaw cowboy guitar again and it came out so cool!
Hilariously when arranging I complete forgot that the full version of this track also has nods to Last Ignition as a bridge - I chose to include it as part of the modulation simply because it's arguably my favorite theme in the game and then realized ohoho
Slapped some footage from the 2nd opening animation because otherwise I ran out of video oops.
Fun fact - this theme gets included in Wild Arms 5 as an Easter egg ring tone!
Fun fact #2 - to sync to the video from the official Sony channel, we had to record at a perfectly normal and logical 126.5 bpm
