What is the spiritual state of children at birth? Are they born guilty of Adam’s sin, or did we inherit death, the consequences of Adam’s sin? Those who claim we are all conceived and born as sinners use a single verse in Psalm 51 as their foundational proof text, even though other Psalms written by David utterly contradict them as does the verse itself. In my opinion, the doctrine of inherited sin is an extremely serious heresy as it ends up denying Jesus’ true human nature, our atonement and has produced nothing but heresies, yet people prefer traditions over truth.
