PROJECT BRUTALITY Survival is a standalone mod made by MaiCoxOut for DOOM, it does not need Project Brutality 3.0 to be launched. When you have both files downloaded, all you need to do is to just load them properly with launcher or batch and it's all. Compared to the 'vanilla' Project Brutality it's focused more on surviving than all guns blazing. You are slower but you can still dash, however you are also more fragile than before. Rate of fire for most of the guns had been nerfed, same goes with reload speed and damage per second statistics. You can also carry less ammo than before, for example there are way less explosive ammo for you in reserve than before. In case of BFGs/BHG the ammo is separate and does not share any longer the same energy cells as with 'weaker' weapons. For some weapons you also must perform a reload manually, for example it's the case with a crossbow, revolvers or shotguns, you also can't hack&slash with Fire Axe as before.

BRUTAL DOOM Insanity Nightmares,a fork of Brutal Doom v20 that adds a lot of new monsters together with arsenal of new weapons and even items, made by killerfrosty plus Project Remap, No Pain No Gain difficulty, 100% Secrets achieved. Brutal Doom Insanity Nightmares surely has strong vibes of Insanitys Brutality (a mod last updated in 2017) while playing, even some sound effects are the same, climax and gameplay are also quite close to it. Remember that Insanitys Nightmares is a Brutal Doom v20 fork so you might encounter some performance issues such as spikes or general drops, it is advised to turn off some options or decrease resolution to avoid such issues. The No Pain No Gain difficulty is an obvious reference to the Shadow Warrior and is an Ultra-Violence counterpart from there, but because of the various bonuses dropped from the enemies it might be a little bit easier. Modification also has a quite nice inventory items added to the spawns, for example you can pick up a Medicine backpack that can restore your health up to 100 if you are injured, a nice thing when you are in serious trouble. But the real healthsavers will be your turrets that can be found mostly inside these wooden crates - there are two versions of them that you can find, a light machine gun version and a minigun, both of course have different visuals and stats. To use them you must simply come to a place where you want to put them down and press a button responsible for items usage, the turret is ready to fire at your enemies but keep in mind that these can be destroyed by demons when engaged. You can place these turrets whenever you want, when the area is clear just come next to them and pick up them back, they are truly a great item that will help you a lot while playing, lots of encounters are way easier thanks to them. The gunplay is something that you need to get over with while playing, the recoil and spread is somewhat large while using some weapons, while such bigger guns like Nailgun or Minigun are way easier to control in my opinion. As for Project Remap it is a WAD that 4 DOOM 2 remade and enlarged a lot, addins lots of new areas and rooms for you to explore, together with removing some very easy secrets or adding new secrets that are more difficult to find. There are of course way more enemies for you to eliminate, hundreds of them are waiting for you on each map, lots of them will be teleported nearby you, the WAD author surely loved to place tons of Pinkies to surround you.

PROJECT BRUTALITY 3.0 together with Dark & Forgotten mappack by Endless on the Man and a Half difficulty level, Chaotic Random spawn preset, 100% Secrets achieved. Project Brutality 3.0 is an upcoming version of one of the best available mods for the classic Doom - expect a lot of fun when playing it. Please note that the Project Brutality 3.0 in its current state is still Work In Progress, so bugs are to be expected, together with crashes to desktop (same with addons, they are not 100% always compatible and actual). Dark & Forgotten is a quite short mappack with a total of three maps, author suggests that you might need approximately 30 minutes to complete it with a blind playthrough, I think it might be done quite faster. In addition you must also acquire an OTEX texture WAD to have this mappack fully running with no missing textures, otherwise it will work but ugly with missing textures all over the place so OTEX is mandatory to have. The levels are pretty quick and not so difficult to be completed, with Project Brutality and Chaotic Random spawn preset it also depends on your luck, I had really tons of luck that I havent met ANY Flesh Wizard or Overlord at all. The first level can be troublesome because it already throws at you such monsters as Barons of Hell and even Arch-Viles but with all honesty, you can also find a BFG so early in the mappack, already in secret of first map. The map has a total of four secrets, with one of them quite difficult to be triggered - you have to shoot one nicely hidden skull switch on a wall to reveal a fake wall, there is also a one trigger where you must shoot a wall to find a Megasphere. Once in level two you find yourself in the middle of 20-30 monsters next to you, you trigger a fight and they will also come to you, another not so good aspect is a lack of space to manevuer, you are in some kind of sewers, yikes. This map is also a debut for the Cyberdemon, thankfully for you its locked on some kind of platform and cant get you, however it also has other monsters and its in such place that you might have to take it down eventually. And the last level once you escape from Underground, the shortest one too - opposite to the previous maps it has only one secret and its just near end of the map and it includes in Invicibility Sphere to finish the map easier. All of these three maps have also placed BFGs inside secrets, by the way this mappack surely loves to throw you a dozen or so monsters at you, but with BFGs in your disposal it becomes a way easier thing to do.

BRUTAL DOOM v21 GOLD release with DARK DOOM Z addon, map Do Not Turn Your Back on The City created by Trashbang for DOOM II Hell On Earth on the Ultra-Violence difficulty level, 100% Secrets Achieved. Dark DooM Z is an improved version of the Dark Doom addon, where you can customize such settings like fog, lighting or even a flashlight that comes together with this addon (but you can use any other flashlight if you wish). The map is Do Not Turn Your Back On The City (literally), it is a medium-long map with over 250+ monsters that can be spawned (add the Pain Elementals) plus author loved to place some ambushes to trick you. There is a total of 3 secrets for you to obtain, it includes a very early Plasma Rifle at the beginning of the level (YOU NEED IT), same with early Rocket Launcher and MANDATORY backpack with Soulsphere in the middle of the map. The difficulty of this map is something close to the moderate - while the beginning might be challenging because you have almost nothing and there are dozens of monsters already, it gets easier and easier with every minute. Once you beging the map, you start with window ahead of you, first you have to leave the building and eliminate a Zombie, grab some ammo and move outside to the deserted streets of this demon infested city. Your first trip will be to get the yellow key that can be seen once you enter a large building with a first and second secret present, however you will have to find a large EMPTY room with a dead Pinky inside. As expected, the empty room is of course a trap that releases a wave of alive demons at you, once you fire a weapon however, the four Revenants will also appear hidden in the pillars, thankfully they will not move away. Once you have the yellow key, you must find a way to get the red keycard located behind locked doors, this is quite a tricky and annoying part because the Archvile also lurks nearby hiding behind a fake wall. Once you have all the keys it is time to enter a final battle at the end of the level, you will enter a large desolated arena composed of demonic growth and flesh, did you notice how many monsters are still alive?

BRUTAL DOOM KICKASS EDITION v4 ETERNAL Update, by D-boi - this is a Brutal Doom fork together with Elementalism, Heart of The Feathered Serpent & Descension for DOOM 2 on Ultra-Violence difficulty level, 100% Secrets achieved. Elementalism is a pretty known WAD so far with a total of 15+1 maps (becase of the central hub that connects three episodes) with custom monsters, quite high difficulty in some of them and astonishing visuals. This time I will focus for the first time on the Earth Chapter, a third available together with Fire and Water chapters respectively, first two maps seem to be a nice breeze, also not so super difficult like W4 level. You begin in a small cave, not so far from you there is a Shotgun waiting for you to be picked up, also be aware because first monsters will be nearby, thankfully just some cannon fodder like Imps and Zombies. Once outside there is a center point of the map, a huge outdoor arena with several places to visit, one of them is a tomb with secret inside, one of the skulls is surely not just a basic texture but a switch to be pressed. Two other areas here are the mandatory trips to find a yellow and red skull keys respectively, both of these places also are not so super difficult but... grenade throwing zombies in Brutal Doom Kickass make this a lot more difficult. Once both of the skull keys are found by you its time to leave this map, go to the pyramid and hit two switches to turn on the elevator, once below simply walk outside the building and you will enter the Descension map. Descension is a little bit more difficult in my opinion than Heart of The Feathered Serpent because the beginning begins already in open area with several monsters waiting for you, thankfully unaware of your presence. But once the fight starts there are like 30-40 monsters assaulting you, just stay out of the grenades, pick up every possible weapon nearby together with medikits and grab two easy secrets before proceeding to the caves. The area in the caves is quite challenging because of the masses of Revenants, Hell Knights and other annoying stuff, lots of traps also waiting and nothing worse than to be minced by multiple hitscanners at point blank range. Once everything is done, head to the elevator and prepare yourself for another arena fighting with lots of enemies and even a Cyberdemon, head to the exit and be also aware there because another nasty ambush is about to be triggered.

Project Brutality 3.0 is an upcoming version of one of the best available mods for the classic Doom - expect a lot of fun when playing it. Please note that the Project Brutality 3.0 in its current state is still Work In Progress, so bugs are to be expected, together with crashes to desktop (same with addons, they are not 100% always compatible and actual). Circles of Hell by Chief Smokey is a remake of the third episode of The Ultimate Doom called Inferno, and this is by far in my opinion the most difficult of these 3 remakes by him, difficulty speaks for itself. There are 9 levels for you to complete (8 basic + 1 secret as always) but because it uses a DOOM 2 IWAD, you will encounter all of the monsters from the roster such as Revenants, Mancubi, Pain Elementals or annoying ArchViles. Because of how large and complex are the maps (10 to 15 minutes) I decided to split the video in two, the first half of the video already takes more than an hour, so imagine how large would be a file with whole episode at once. I mentioned early how difficult this WAD is, well it speaks for itself that most of the maps love to troll you because you already in the Hell itself, practically you should watch for yourself almost every step, trust me. Lots of the ceiling around the maps can crush you instantly without a chance to run away (yes, you should be aware of it), lots of cells are hidden pillars that move down when you step on them, trapping you in lava, ouch. Same goes even with walls my dear Doomguys, they are fake in lots of places and they will reveal a lot of monsters when you are nearby, some of them are just a thin obstacle for you, so prepare for projectiles coming from walls. As for the levels as I mentioned earlier, prepare for quite long and very difficult trips because there is a lot of fighting and nasty traps almost everywhere, even first level can end for you really early because of getting crushed. It is quite fundamential for you to grab as many secrets as possible because lots of the really strong weapons are hidden in them, especially in case of BFG of Plasma Rifles, its good to have them as fast as possible, no joking. The visuals are outstanding here but do not look at them too long because in the meantime you might be ambushed or crushed by a spooky ceiling, or worse ambushed by a dozen or so annoying Phantasms, trust me this is a hard trip.

Ok this is quite a big thing to play because there are not so many Doom 1 Episodes remade/remastered with DOOM 2 assets like monsters and weapons, but this also has upgraded map layouts together with fresh textures. Currently out of the first episode we have five maps available (E1M1, E1M4, E1M9, E1M5, E1M8 in this order) with a very similar map layouts for everyone who played these maps lots of the times (like me, had no problems with secrets at all). But few things have been changed and are not so familiar 1 to 1 with vanilla maps, few secrets had been merged or removed because they were too easy, some were replaced with something else like a different mechanism to trigger. For example if you remember these 3 secrets in 1 from E1M5 with Chainsaw, RadSuit and Soulsphere it had been merged in one with a different mechanism to trigger it, no more fake walls because you have to find a teleporter on map. In case of the Soulsphere from E1M9 hidden behind a very easy fake wall, this time you have to perform a little bit of platforming slides, but its still something not too difficult when you look around a room. Unfortunately in case of the E1M9 Military Base one of the secrets cannot be triggered, if you remember an underground room reachable by a hidden elevator that connects two corridors, welp it might be really difficult to trigger it. Levels have practically the same amount of monsters on maps, so it might be rather quick for a player to finish the levels, I honestly cant wait for more maps by StalkerBlade to be released, especially his reimagining of Shores Of Hell. In overall this is a fantastic demo mappack with five maps to play, if you are familiar with vanilla maps you would finish all of them in ~20 minutes, this is a great trip to the past with new details added to the maps. And the E1M9 ending is something really appreciated, this is how portal to the Deimos might have been looking in ID Softwares minds - a true portal to Deimos base that floats above Hell itself.
