Knitting tops from the neck down are very trendy now, especially with raglan sleeves. I thought it would be nice to have a few options to make these raglans increases in pretty patterns, sometimes the only pattern in a simple stockinette stitch sweater.

Pattern - Increase for Garter Stitch:

Cast 13 stitches and work one row.

Row 1: cast on 20 stitches. Place a stitch marker where you want the increase to be. Work your stitches until marker. Pick up the left leg of the last stitch you worked and purl it through the bak loop. Simple and pretty!
