This buttonhole is completed in the same row, as the name suggests. That means it will be a good one for flat or circular knitting. I suggest you buy the buttons first, measure it, and calculate your buttonhole accordingly your gauge. It will be useful do work this practice.

Cast on 15 stitches. My buttonhole will be over 5 center stitches.

Row 1: P5, leaving the yarn in place, bring a stitch from left hand needle to the right one and pass stitch over (5 times).

Using the working yarn, cast on 5 stitches and purl to end.
