When Micron Technology said it had started shipping customer samples of a 256GB SOCAMM2 module that it considered to be the industry's highest capacity LPDRAM module for AI data center infrastructure, EE Times had the opportunity to chat with Praveen Vaidyanathan, vice president and general manager for cloud memory products at Micron Technology to learn more.
Vaidyathan told EE Times' executive editor Nitin Dahad that with the pace of innovation being rapid, especially as a result of an annual cadence of new product introductions from companies like Nvidia, a culture of co-design and innovation with customers was key to meeting the accelerating demands of AI workloads.
In this video interview, he explains the significance of Micron's new 256GB SOCAMM2 module, the broader memory hierarchy in which this sits, and some of the broader memory industry trends that we can expect.
